Attending the Masters 2022? Here are 5 of the best Columbia hotels that still have rooms
Columbia has long been a city people have chosen to stay at before driving to Augusta, Ga. to watch the Masters each year and 2022 is no exception.
Rooms are quickly disappearing, with some of the most popular Columbia hotels, like Aloft Columbia and the Sheraton downtown, already fully booked for the 86th edition of the golf tournament, which lasts from April 7 to April 10. However, there is still a solid selection of hotels with rooms available in Columbia, if you can act fast.
Below are 5 of the best Columbia hotels — with ratings of four stars or higher — with rooms available during the Masters as of Wednesday.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites at The Vista
Enjoy what downtown Columbia has to offer when you’re not at the tournament by staying at the Holiday Inn Express & The Vista. Located at 901 Washington St., the hotel is within walking distance of a variety of restaurants and bars.
According to booking.com, the hotel has six rooms available for a full four-night stay during the Masters for the lowest price at $1,196. The hotel features an outdoor swimming pool.
Hilton Garden Inn Columbia Airport
The Hilton Garden Inn Columbia Airport hotel lists that it still has two rooms left for a four night stay at the lowest listed price of $1,387 over the course of the Masters, according to booking.com. The hotel is 7.8 miles from the Columbia Metropolitan Airport and just 5.3 miles away from the city center. The hotel features an outdoor saltwater pool and a 24-hour fitness center.
Chesnut Cottage
If you’d prefer something other than a typical hotel, Chesnut Cottage might be the place for you. Though it doesn’t have rooms available for the entire tournament, the historic bed and breakfast does have openings from April 6 through April 9.
Built in the 1850s, the Chesnut Cottage at 1718 Hampton St. was once home to Mary Boykin Chesnut and her husband, Gen. James Chesnut, according to the bed and breakfast’s website. The Chesnut is a 1.5-story, Classical Revival style frame house, that features a projecting front portico with octagonal columns.
Staybridge Suites Columbia
Staybridge Suites, located at 1913 Huger St., has three rooms still available for a four-night stay, priced at $946, according to booking.com. The hotel is just 2 miles from the University of South Carolina campus and just a few minutes’ drive to main downtown area of Columbia. Each suite includes hardwood furniture and every kitchen has an oven, full-sized refrigerator and a dishwasher. Cookware and dishware are provided. A gym and convenience store are also part of the hotel.
Holiday Inn downtown
The Holiday Inn at 1233 Washington Street is another hotel conveniently within walking distance of downtown’s many restaurants and bars. The hotel lists that it has six rooms left for a four night stay at the lowest price of $1,080. Besides features the basics like flatscreen TVs, a desk and private bathroom, some of the rooms offer great views of the city. The hotel also has free WiFi and a fitness center.
