There’s a new butcher shop on the way to the heart of Lexington.

A New York Butcher Shoppe location is coming to 400 West Main St. in Lexington. That’s just west of downtown, near Columbia Avenue. There is a Wells Fargo bank and a Quality Inn and Suites nearby.

The Lexington location is listed as “coming soon” on the New York Butcher Shoppe website. On Tuesday, the shop shared photos of construction and renovation work going on at the site on its Facebook page

There are currently 17 New York Butcher Shoppe locations operating in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Florida, with three more including the Lexington location on the way. Among the locations already in operation in South Carolina is a store at 1500 Woodrow St. in Columbia.

The New York Butcher Shoppe offers a host of items, per its website, including a deep selection of fresh beef, chicken, pork, veal and lamb. The shop has a large menu of prepared foods, including salads, macaroni and cheese, twice baked potatoes and much more.

The Lexington shop also will carry a number of wines and cheeses, as well as desserts and other offerings.
