Easter is nearly upon us once more and there are plenty of events scheduled this weekend in and around Columbia. From your classic Easter egg hunt to carnivals and crabfests, there’s plenty for children, families and adults to enjoy.

Below are 12 hopping-good Easter event choices happening Saturday and Sunday.

Easter Eggstravaganza

When: Saturday at 11 a.m.

Where: Roy Lynch Park in downtown Columbia

Village Church is hosting its annual Easter event in downtown Columbia. The event will feature Easter eggs for the kids, goodies bags with candy and free food.

Good Friday Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Clinton Sease Farm in Lexington

The Clinton Sease Farm’s Easter event will feature a hay ride, cow train, bubble mania, playgrounds, photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny and prizes. Bring a basket or bag to collect Easter eggs. Tickets cost $18 each. Reserve your tickets online.

Easter Dash 5K and Cottontail Youth Fun Run

When: Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Where: Corner of Trenholm Road and 4801 Forest Drive

If you’re not interested in standard Easter egg hunting this year, why not try a run instead? The 5K will begin at 8:30 a.m., while the youth run will start at 9:15 a.m. On site registration will begin at 7:15 a.m. Awards will be given for winners. For more information, click here.

Community Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Where: Providence Presbyterian Church in West Columbia

The church will offer plenty of family fun, including games and a classic Easter egg hunt. Don’t forget to bring a basket.

Kids Easter Terrarium

When: Saturday 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Where: PlantHouse at 702 Cross Hill Road in Columbia

The Easter workshop offers fun for the whole family. PlantHouse crews will walk guest through the steps of creating a one-of-a-kind terrarium that can hang or sit on a table. The workshop features an air plant and your choice of decor, including Easter decor.

The workshop is recommended for ages 6 years old and up and parent supervision is required. Tickets cost $15 only for guests building a terrarium.

Children’s Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Where: Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church in West Columbia

The church’s annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt is an event open to all children from nursery age to 5th grade. Please bring a basket without grass and come join the church for snacks, story time, crafts and an egg hunt or two.

Community Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Where: Life Springs Worship Center in Lexington

The worship center is holding a free Easter event. Besides an Easter egg hunt, the event will have food, games candy and more.

Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Where: North Trenholm Baptist Church in Columbia

The church is holding its annual Easter egg hunt, but that’s not all. The event will also feature food trucks with a range of offerings, from wings to smoothies and Pelican’s SnoBalls.

Pet Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Where: Modern Companion at 508 Lexington Ave. in Chapin

Bring your furbaby along to hunt for his or her own egg at this Easter event. The pet store will hide eggs all around its storefront, with prizes in them ranging from some yummy treats to discounts. Come into the store anytime between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. There is a limit of one egg per customer. There will also be a small backdrop for customers to take pictures with their pets.

Easter Sunday Family Brunch

When: Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Saluda Shoals Park in Columbia

Come to this event for a tasty Sunday brunch and Easter activities. The event will offer a brunch menu and mimosas, along with an Easter egg hunt, games, live music, shopping and more.

Easter Carnival

When: Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Taylor Plantation in Lexington

Hosted by The Church at White Knoll, the carnival will feature free food, entertainment and prizes. A special prize egg will be hidden for a grand prize, but other prizes will be available at a variety of games.

Easter Crabfest and Egg Hunt

When: Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Swamp Cabbage Brewing Company in Columbia

Swamp Cabbage is hosting its annual crabfest and Easter egg hunt. Tickets are $45 per person. Register online here.
