Coroner identifies rider in deadly Midlands motorcycle crash

The coroner has identified a man who was killed in a Friday crash in Fairfield County.

Fairfield County Coroner Chirs Hill said that Allen Jermaine Trapp II, 28, died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with another vehicle. Trapp was ejected from the motorcycle, and was taken to MUSC Fairfield, where he died.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Brandon Bolt, the incident happened at about 8 p.m. Friday on 8th Street near Poplar Street in Winnsboro.

Trapp reportedly was on a KTM motorcycle and was traveling north on Poplar. A second car, a 2007 Ford Focus, was heading west on 8th Street. Bolt said the motorcycle rider disregarded a stop sign and hit the side of the Focus. The driver of the Focus was taken to an area hospital for injuries, the trooper said.
