Longtime pizzeria in Lexington says it’s closed for good
A fixture of the Lexington restaurant scene for nearly two decades has closed.
Uno Pizzeria and Grill announced in an April 24 Facebook post that it was closed for good.
“Unos Lexington is closing their doors for the final time tonight,” the restaurant posted. “Thank you to all our amazing customers and wonderful staff who have passed through our doors over the last 19 years.”
The now-shuttered Uno is located at 5304 Sunset Blvd., not far from a shopping center that includes a Hobby Lobby. The store locator tool on the national Uno website no longer includes a listing of the Lexington location. There are Uno Pizzeria and Grill locations in a number of states, mostly concentrated in the Midwest and Northeast.
The restaurant is known for its Chicago-style deep dish pizza, burgers, steaks and more.
More than 200 people had commented on the Lexington Uno’s farewell post on Facebook as of Tuesday afternoon, with many people lamenting that the location had closed.
“Hate to see you go,”one customer wrote. “Customer service and all the employees were always so great. And the pizza was our favorite. Best of luck in whatever awaits you in the future.”
