Midlands man is $300K richer after lottery win

A man is $300,000 richer after buying a scratch-off lottery ticket at a Midlands gas station.

According to a release from the South Carolina Education Lottery, a man bought a Money Game lottery ticket at the Circle Quick Stop in Leesville. He told the lottery officials that the ticket caught his eye because it was red.

It ended up earning him some serious green, to the tune of $300,000.

“I never expected to win that much,” the man, who chose not to be publicly identified, told South Carolina Education Lottery officials. “It’s amazing.”

The release said the man supports the state’s lottery, “because his children earned lottery-funded college scholarships.” He overcame 1-in-900,000 odds to win the $300,000.

The Circle Quick Stop got a $3,000 commission for selling the ticket.
