A Columbia man is $30,000 richer after playing an Electric Cash scratch-off lottery game, a ticket he bought at a Food Lion, the South Carolina Education Lottery said.

The man, whose name was not released by the South Carolina Lottery, was on the phone with his daughter when he played the scratch-off game. He then texted a picture of the ticket to his daughter.

“Daddy, you won $30,000,” she screamed, according to the lottery.

One $30,000 prize remains in the Electric Cash game. The odds of winning that prize is one in 480,000, the lottery said.

“It was a great moment,” the man said a few days after cashing in his prize. “I’m tickled to death.”

The Food Lion on Garners Ferry Road sold the $2 ticket and received a $300 commission for selling the claimed ticket.
