A new restaurant that bills itself as a “global fusion” spot is set to open in northeast Columbia.

Urban Wok announced on social media that it will open June 8 [story updated] at 1033 Robert Branch Parkway. That’s just off Killian Road, across the street from Popeye’s and near several other restaurants, such as Freddy’s, Chipotle and Panda Express.

This will be the third restaurant in the nation for the nascent chain. The other two are in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Brookhaven, Georgia, according to Urban Wok’s website.

Urban Wok is a fresh stir fry concept where diners can customize their dishes. Customers can choose a base such as jasmine rice or udon noodles, among others then add meats and veggies including chicken, beef, mixed peppers and more. Diners can then choose from a number of flavorful sauces for their meal.

The restaurant said on social media that its sauces are gluten-free and vegan and are made fresh daily.

Urban Wok also has a number of appetizers, according to its online menu, including wings, jalapeno fried rice, and potstickers, among other items.
