A young mother of five who was shot and killed at a graduation party over the weekend was described as “a pure-hearted person” who put other people’s needs first.

Audrionna Kind, known as Tutu, was shot in the back in a shooting at her mother’s house in Summerton, where she also lived with her children.

Kind’s children, four sons, including an infant, and a daughter were also at the party. Her oldest, 12-year-old son Kazon was shot in the leg.

The shooting happened around 11 p.m. Saturday. In addition to Kazon, six were injured, ranging in age from 12 to 36.

Clarendon County Sheriff Tim Baxley told The State multiple people fired weapons from two vehicles into a crowd of about 150 people. Investigators recovered 60-70 shell casings.

He said the incident could have been gang related, retaliation for a previous disagreement.

Alsonso Felder, Kind’s cousin, said he has heard multiple stories, including that the shooting could have been about a girl or about money.

But one thing he knows for sure is how much his family will miss his cousin, who he described as an innocent bystander. She was 32.

“She loved having fun and meeting new people,” he said.

Another cousin, Adrienne Kind, described her as a confident woman who always put her children first.

She enjoyed partying and party planning, Felder said, especially birthday parties for her children. They are staying with her mother, Linda Kind, Felder said.

“She was always the life of the party,” Adrienne Kind said.

When Felder owned a club in Summerton, Kind was his No. 1 promoter.

“She was always smiling, always laughing,” he said.

KInd worked at McDonald’s and was working toward earning a GED.

“The amount of confidence she exuded was immeasurable. It didn’t matter what anyone had to say about her, she walked around with her head high,” Felder said on a gofundme, established for her funeral expenses as well as for the needs of her children: sons, Kazon, King, Kanye, Kyrie and daughter Honesti. She called her kids the “fab five.”

“This tragic loss should not impede them from achieving great things,” he said.

Less than a week ago on her Facebook page, Kind linked to a shooting in Charlotte in which a father and his 4-month old son were shot to death.

She responded with one word — the one her family is saying now — “sad.”

“This one hits hard,” Felder said.
