A new I Heart Mac & Cheese is opening in Lexington County. Check out where it will be

The late author Willa Cather once said, “Where there is great love, there are always miracles.”

And if you love the idea of things like short rib Philly mac and cheese, there is a miracle coming your way in West Columbia.

A new I Heart Mac and Cheese and More restaurant is being prepped in the shopping center at the corner of Emanuel Church Road and Platt Springs Road in West Columbia. It will be right next door to Bogarts restaurant. Stroud Supply also is located in that shopping center, and there is a McDonald’s nearby.

The I Heart Mac and Cheese website does not list an opening date for the West Columbia location but does list it as “coming soon.” A sign along Platt Springs Road at the shopping center also notes the restaurant is coming soon. The center is along a corridor between the Red Bank area and the Columbia Metropolitan Airport.

This will be the second Midlands I Heart Mac and Cheese location. The other is at 1033 Roberts Branch Parkway in northeast Columbia. That location opened in September 2021.

I Heart Mac and Cheese specializes in wait for it — various macaroni and cheese bowls, and also offers specialty grilled cheese sandwiches, some vegan dishes, select desserts and more. The restaurant offers featured items such as the Buffalo Blue Mac and Cheese, which includes chicken, Buffalo sauce, blue cheese, celery and carrots, as well as offering customers the opportunity to build their own bowls with various ingredients.
