Authorities have identified a Lexington man who was killed in a two-car crash Wednesday.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said Lexington’s Cline David Taylor, 70, died from injuries sustained in the wreck. He was wearing his seat belt in the crash, the coroner said.

The two-vehicle collision happened at about noon Wednesday at the intersection of U.S. 378 and and Peachland Drive, according to Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell of the S.C. Highway Patrol. That’s in the Gilbert area, near Lake Murray.

Fisher said Taylor was traveling northbound on Peachland Drive when he failed to stop at the intersection and was struck by another vehicle that was traveling westbound on Highway 378. Taylor was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Occupants of the second vehicle were treated for injuries at the hospital.

The Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
