South Carolina women will have the chance to own clothing designed by a Palmetto State native for Target’s fall collection starting Sunday.

Sergio Hudson from Ridgeway is one of three limited-time-only designers partnering with Target for its women fall collection, a recent Target press release states.

Hudson, who has designed outfits for huge names, including Beyoncé and former First Lady Michelle Obama, will also host a meet-and-greet at two Columbia-area Target stores on Sunday, according to WIS News. Hudson will be at the Target at 10204 Two Notch Road starting at 8 a.m., then at 11 a.m. he will visit with customers in the store at 609A Garners Ferry Road.

A 2022 recipient of Harlem’s Fashion Show Designer of the Year, Hudson created his brand in 2014 after winning Bravo’s “Styled to Rock” competition. He’s known for his jewel tone hues, tailoring and combining flattering silhouettes with bold patterns.

“I love to style all women and pull inspiration from many different eras,” Hudson said in the press release. “My approach is modern yet rooted in timeless trends and working with Target has allowed me to really let my creativity shine.”

Hudson’s Target designs feature matching sets, dresses and coats, with a modern take on classic silhouettes with a minimal aesthetic.

“I started this collection with patterns like houndstooth — a print popular in the ‘80s and ‘90s — and finished it off with multiple monochromatic looks, providing women with endless chic style options this fall,” Hudson said in the press release.

The fall collection features more than 100 apparel and accessories items in total. The other two designers featured are Kika Vargas and La Ligne.
