A ‘supreme crunch’: A new Korean chicken spot is opening in this Columbia corridor
There soon will be a new culinary twist along what’s known as Columbia’s International Corridor.
92Chicken, which specializes in Korean-style fried chicken, is coming to 2652 Decker Blvd. There is a sign on the front of the building saying the 92Chicken brand is coming soon, and the location is also listed among the upcoming restaurants in the store locator tool on 92Chicken USA’s website. There are also “coming soon” banners on 92Chicken Columbia’s Facebook page.
There are 92Chicken locations across the country, including in North Carolina, New York, Texas, Florida, Kansas, Virginia and New Jersey, among other spots. Its website indicates new locations coming soon in California, Colorado, Pennsylvania and elsewhere.
A portion of Decker Boulevard is known as Richland County’s International Corridor. As Experience Columbia notes, it “encompasses the best of international cuisine, and multi-cultural goods and services.”
92Chicken carries a variety of Korean-inspired fried chicken offerings, including red hot pepper chicken, lemon chicken, garlic spicy chicken and more.
“The true secret to supreme crunch is frying it twice,” the company says on its website. “Each piece of 92 Chicken is double fried to a golden crisp to lock in the textures people crave.”
