Man killed Friday in Lexington County crash identified

The man killed Friday night in a head-on collision on rural Blackville Road about 2 1/2 miles southwest of Gaston has been identified by the Lexington County coroner’s office as 28-year-old Christopher Alan Davis of Lexington.

The crash occurred at 8:30 pm when the 1993 Honda coupe driven by Davis, traveling east on the 500 block of Blackville Road, crossed the center lane and ran into a 1998 Buick which was headed in the opposite direction, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said. David was not wearing a seat belt and, according to the coroner, died as a result of the injuries sustained in the accident.

South Carolina Highway Patrol and Lexington County coroners office are investigating the accident.
