3 SC drug offenders’ sentences commuted
Three South Carolina drug offenders – including one from Newberry – are among 46 whose prison sentences were commuted Monday by President Barack Obama.
The three went to prison after conviction for conspiracy to distribute cocaine. Each will be released Nov. 10.
Those being released include:
▪ Douglas Lindsay II of Newberry, convicted in 1996.
▪ Kevin Matthews of James Island, convicted in 2004.
▪ Donald Vanderhorst of Charleston, convicted in 2006.
