South Carolina could see severe storms Tuesday

Storms that hit the Midwest on Monday are expected to shift to the southern Appalachians and the Carolina coast Tuesday.

This afternoon, the National Weather Service is calling for partly sunny skies with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may be severe. The chance of rain is 50 percent.

Tonight, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms, some severe. Again, the chance of rain is 40 percent.

Wednesday is expected to clear a bit, although a 40 percent chance of rain remains.

Illinois and the Ohio Valley on Monday saw widespread damaging winds with large hail.
