A Gyromania Grill restaurant is being planned for Elgin, SC.

A new restaurant offering Greek and Mediterranean flavors has set its sights on the Midlands.

Gyromania Grill restaurant is being prepped at 2558 Main St. in Elgin, according to posts on the business’s Facebook page. It will be in the space that was formerly home to the Hwy. 55 Burgers and Shakes restaurant. It’s located just east of the Elgin branch of the Kershaw County Library and about half a mile west of Elgin Town Hall.

A debut date is not offered on the Gyromania Grill Elgin’s Facebook page, but the business has made posts recently indicating the opening is getting closer, including a post showing off the restaurant’s new kitchen equipment and another noting the business is hiring line cooks and other positions.

Currently, there are a number of Gyromania Grill locations in Florida, according to the company’s website. An online menu shows everything from a host of pita wraps to Greek salads to lamb chop platters to desserts and beyond.

The Main Street area where the Gyromania Grill will be located sees solid traffic. About 13,000 cars per day pass down that corridor, according to S.C. Department of Transportation data.
