One person killed walking on Richland County Interstate
An SUV struck and killed a person who was walking on Interstate 77 east of Columbia Saturday morning, the South Carolina Highway Patrol has reported.
At roughly 5:36 a.m., a pedestrian walking near the 11 mile marker, near Fort Jackson, was hit by a 2015 Nissan Murano traveling north and was killed. Highway Patrol did not identify the person killed.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital.
