Parts of Harden Street closed Thursday near Five Points

The westbound lanes of Harden Street at Gervais Street will be closed Thursday morning for drainage repairs.

SCDOT officials said the westbound lanes of Harden Street from Gervais to Senate streets will be closed to traffic beginning at 9:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. Workers will be excavating and installing a drainage structure in the area.

The site is just outside Five Points in downtown Columbia.

Detours will be in place for early morning traffic, but motorists in the area are urged to find alternate routes and to drive cautiously as workers remain in the area.
