A new restaurant with Asian flavors is being prepped in Columbia’s Harbison shopping district.

Burnin 99 Korean BBQ and Hotpot is coming to 1150 Bower Parkway, not far from the Regal Columbiana Grande movie theater and the British Bulldog Pub. Burnin 99 is going into the space that formerly was home to Wild Wing Cafe, which closed in that location several years ago.

An opening date for Burnin 99 hasn’t been publicly announced. There is signage for the restaurant up on both sides of the building, and there were construction materials inside the lobby and city of Columbia building permits on the door when a reporter briefly stopped by Tuesday afternoon.

Burnin 99 currently has a location in North Charleston. On its website, the restaurant says it has 20 kinds of sauces to go with its various dishes.

“Burnin 99 is an All-You-Can-Eat authentic Chinese hot pot and Korean BBQ restaurant,” the company said on its website. “We offer 6 choices of hot pot broths, which serve as perfect soup bases for 45 different kinds of fresh vegetable and meat. Burnin 99 is a place that can bring you great fulfillment and endless enjoy.”

The Lexington County Chronicle first reported the Burnin 99 plans for the busy Harbison area.

Interestingly, another former Wild Wing Cafe location in the Midlands also is being replaced by a Korean BBQ and hot pot restaurant. KPot Korean BBQ and Hot Pot is going into the former Wild Wing Cafe spot in the Village at Sandhill in northeast Columbia.

KPot also is planning a restaurant at 280 Harbison Blvd., in the former Chili’s location.
