Deputies are investigating after a man was injured in a Sunday shooting in Columbia.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said in a release that deputies responded at about 2 p.m. Sunday to the 400 block of Percival Road after getting a call about a shooting. That’s in northeast Columbia, just west of Interstate 77.

Investigators said the alleged shooting happened when an argument between two men turned physical. One of those men was taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound.

There was no word on his condition, and authorities did not name him or the shooting suspect.

No arrests in the case had been publicly reported as of Monday morning. Deputies said in a release that it was an isolated incident and that they believed there was no further threat to the community connected to the shooting.
