Residents in the Red Bank area now have a new spot that will help keep their cars running strong.

A new Express Oil and Tire Engineers auto shop opened Thursday, June 8, at 5449 Platt Springs Road. That’s in front of the Lake Crossing shopping center that is anchored by a Publix grocery store and also includes a Domino’s Pizza and other businesses. The Express Oil is next door to the new Chick-fil-A restaurant that opened last year at 5465 Platt Springs Road.

Express Oil Change and Tire Engineers is a nationally known brand with locations in numerous states, especially in the Southeast. The company touts “stay in your car” service and 10-minute oil changes and offers a number of brands of tires.

The new Red Bank location will be running grand opening specials through Saturday, June 10, per a company release, including a $15 discount on a full-service oil change, a 10% discount on mechanical services, a 50% discount on a rotate and balance, a $100 discount on a set of four tires, and a $25 discount on an air conditioning service. The store also is offering free tire pressure checks during the grand opening.

Lexington County has continued to grow steadily and add a host of businesses to go along with that growth. According to the census, the county’s population swelled from 216,000 in 2000 to more than 300,000 in 2021.

The area near the Lake Crossing shopping center in Red Bank stays busy. About 18,000 cars per day travel down that section of Platt Springs Road, and more than 26,000 cars per day travel down nearby South Lake Drive, per the state Department of Transportation.
