Young woman who died in Lexington County wreck identified

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has identified a young woman who died in a car crash in Pelion on Monday.

Gaston resident Madison Taylor Hayden, 21, died after the car she was driving struck a dump truck on the 700 block of Old Charleston Road around noon. Hayden’s car was then struck by another vehicle.

Hayden was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and died at the scene, the coroner’s office said.

The incident remains under investigation by the coroner’s office and the Pelion Police Department.
