Fleet of nationally known shoe stores expands with new Lexington location. Here’s where
Lexington is officially on the run.
Fleet Feet, a nationally known store that specializes in shoes, apparel and other items for runners, is opening a Lexington location at 5594-D Sunset Blvd. That’s in a shopping center that also includes a Jersey Mike’s, a Chipotle and a Krispy Kreme.
The new Lexington Fleet Feet location was set to have a soft opening from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, according to a post on the business’ Facebook page.
This is the third Fleet Feet store in the Midlands. Other locations include a spot at 4525 Forest Drive in Forest Acres and a store at 945 Lake Murray Blvd. in Irmo.
Fleet Feet, which has franchised locations nationwide, has long been known for its running shoes, apparel and more, with brands such as Asics, Brooks, Hoka, Nike and more.
“The first Fleet Feet store opened its doors in 1976 in Sacramento, California, and we’ve been outfitting runners with the right gear and knowledge ever since,” the Fleet Feet website says. “Since that first day, we’ve expanded to 250 stores (and counting) in communities across the country to work toward our vision: to inspire the runner in everyone.”
The Lexington Fleet Feet is opening in one of the busiest shopping and commercial corridors in the Midlands, one that is replete with stores, restaurants and other businesses. About 35,000 cars per day travel down that stretch of Sunset Boulevard, per state Department of Transportation data.
