Here’s how much SC ticket sales contributed to the latest $640M Mega Millions jackpot
The Mega Millions game has reached its seventh-highest jackpot on record and a good chunk of that came from South Carolina.
Strong ticket sales have pushed the jackpot to $640 million for the Tuesday drawing.
But how much of that jackpot has come from South Carolina ticket sales?
South Carolina Mega Millions ticket sales were $13.7 million as of Friday for the current jackpot run.
Were someone to win the current Mega Millions jackpot, they’d have a cash option of $328 million. There have been 26 consecutive Mega Millions drawings without a big winner in the latest jackpot run. The last winning Mega Millions jackpot was on Jan. 13 when a ticket sold in Maine won the $1.348 billion prize.
Mega Millions isn’t the only big time jackpot South Carolinians are hoping to win. The Powerball jackpot recently hit $1 billion, the next drawing for which will be on Wednesday.
The next Mega Millions drawing is set for 11 p.m. on Tuesday. South Carolinians interested in buying tickets must do so before 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
