A new boutique clothing shop is set to open its doors in Columbia. Here’s where and when
A new boutique is set to make its debut this weekend in downtown Columbia, and it will help support a well-known local nonprofit.
The Hope Shop will have its grand opening from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29 at 1111 Taylor St. Officials with the shop say there there will be giveaways, special deals, refreshments and more as part of the opening event.
The new boutique is a social enterprise of Oliver Gospel Mission, the longtime Columbia nonprofit that helps members of the homeless community. The Hope Shop’s website says it will offer “new or gently used high-end clothing at affordable prices” for men and women.
“I am extremely excited that Oliver Gospel has birthed a new concept of hope and collaboration called The Hope Shop, a men and women’s boutique with purpose,” Oliver Gospel executive director Travis McNeal said in a statement. “We’ve already had so many people join in (helping the shop come together) the past 10 months, volunteering, donating and giving of their time and talents to create something very special that will generate needed funds for our programs.”
Oliver Gospel said in an Instagram post that 100% of the profits from The Hope Shop will benefit programs helping men and women experiencing homelessness.
The Hope Shop will have “clothing, shoes, and accessories for both men and women, plus locally made items from select consignment partners,” Oliver Gospel said in a release. For more info on the shop, visit olivergospel.org/retail-boutique.
