It seems there will soon be something new for the sweet tooth in a busy Columbia shopping area.

D & Tea Dessert and Bubble Tea will open a location at 1230 Bower Parkway in the Columbiana Station shopping center, according to a banner hanging at the site. The dessert and tea shop will be right next door to a Poke Bros. restaurant and a few doors down from the 14-screen Regal Columbiana Grande movie theater. An opening date for the shop has not been publicly announced.

There already is a D & Tea shop at 480 Town Center Place in the Village at Sandhill shopping development in northeast Columbia. The menu at that location includes a selection of cheesecakes, mochi in various flavors, and a host of fruit teas, milk teas, lattes and other drinks.

The greater Harbison area northwest of Columbia continues to be a bustling retail district, with a host of stores, restaurants, bars, theaters and services just off Interstate 26. About 29,500 cars per day travel down Harbison near the Columbiana Centre mall, per state Department of Transportation statistics, and about 10,600 cars per day pass down nearby Bower Parkway, where the Columbiana Station shopping center is located.
