One person killed after truck runs off road, overturns in SC crash

One person has died following a Friday night truck crash in Aiken County.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Brandon Bolt said the wreck happened about 9:15 p.m. Friday on Pine Log Road, about five miles south of Warrenville. It was a one-vehicle crash, involving a 1981 Chevrolet pickup truck.

Aiken County Coroner Daryl Ables identified the deceased as 34-year-old Michael B. Garvin, of Aiken. Garvin was the sole occupant of the Chevy truck.

According to the Highway Patrol, the truck was going south on Pine Log Road when it went off the right side of the road. The driver reportedly over-corrected and swerved across to the left side of the road, then swerved back across to the right side of the road and overturned.

The wreck remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
