Sauce alert: Bojangles tests chicken wings in the Columbia market. Here’s what we know
It looks like there is a new player in the wing game in the Columbia area, at least on a trial basis. And it’s a name that’s instantly recognizable.
Bojangles, the Charlotte-based fried chicken chain that is ubiquitous across the Carolinas, said in a Monday release that it is testing chicken wings exclusively in the Columbia market. The company said it would offer the wings for a limited time, but didn’t give an exact time frame.
Bojangles officials noted wings hit Columbia as a test market just in time for football season.
“At Bojangles, we take our chicken and our tailgates seriously, so this season, we’re excited to test wings in Columbia just in time to gather with friends as your favorite team kicks off,” Bojangles’ VP of menu and culinary innovation Marshall Scarborough said in a statement. “Our new wings deliver a Southern, flavorful punch, and are the perfect way to get the tailgate party started.”
Bojangles has numerous locations in the Midlands, and has long been known for its fried chicken with a Cajun flair, as well as biscuits, dirty rice, seasoned fries and more.
The company said the new wings will be will be offered in three flavors: creamy Buffalo, BBQ and Bo’s Classic.
The wings are are available in packs of 20, 40 or 60, and can also be purchased as part of a combo meal or as an add-on to another order.
