Southbound lanes on Richland County interstate blocked when tractor-trailer overturns

All southbound lanes on Interstate 77 were blocked after a tractor-trailer overturned near exit 6 in Richland County Tuesday morning, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

S.C.. Highway Patrol Trooper William Bennett tweeted just before 10:30 a.m. that all traffic is being detoured onto Shop Road.

“Please use caution or find an alternate route if traveling in that area,” Bennett wrote.

Information about the accident and the number of vehicles involved was not available.

Law enforcement were on the scene, traffic cameras showed.

By 12:30 p.m., traffic was still moving slowly.
