A growing coffee shop chain is set to open its latest Midlands location this month.
Clutch Coffee Bar will have a grand opening on Oct. 21 for its new location at 308 Columbia Ave. in Lexington, according to a company spokeswoman. That’s just east of Main Street, not far from a McDonald’s and across the street from a Truist bank and a Captain D’s.
Clutch Coffee has a host of locations across the Carolinas. South Carolina spots include locations in Columbia, Rock Hill and Taylors. It opened the store 4716 Devine St. in Columbia in January.
The company’s menu is highlighted by a number of mochas, lattes, energy drinks and shakes, as well as some food items. Among the drinks is a mocha called the Base Jumper, which the Clutch website calls a “caramel + chocolate adrenaline rush.” It’s food menu includes, among other things, a variety of muffins.
The Lexington Clutch will be coming to a busy commercial corridor. State Department of Transportation statistics show that more than 31,000 cars pass down Columbia Avenue every day.
