Three students were transported to a local hospital after a car collided with a school bus early Friday morning.

The accident happened shortly after 7 a.m. when a Lexington 4 school bus on Highway 6 was rear-ended by another vehicle. The bus was carrying about 30 students heading to the Early Childhood Center on Lewis Road in Swansea, the school district confirmed.

No injuries were reported, and the children were taken as a precaution for further evaluation.

The State has reached out to S.C. Highway Patrol for more information about the accident.
