Finally, the biscuits will rise in Columbia.

Biscuitville Fresh Southern, the breakfast restaurant chain that has been a staple in some Southern states for nearly 60 years, is on the verge of opening its first store in Columbia. The newly constructed Biscuitville at 2715 Clemson Road in northeast Columbia will open Tuesday, Feb. 13, according to a release from the company.

This will mark the sixth Biscuitville location in South Carolina. Other Palmetto State locations include spots in Indian Land, Hartsville, Florence, Greer and Duncan.

“As we expanded our footprint across South Carolina, we knew we had to have a presence in Columbia,” Biscuitville President and CEO Kathie Niven said in a statement. “We can’t wait to introduce our new South Carolina guests to the best Biscuitville has to offer, whether we welcome them to our restaurant dining room or serve them their fresh hot meals from our dual-lane drive-thru.”

The first Biscuitville store opened in 1975 in Danville, Virginia, per Biscuitville’s website. By 1978 there were eight locations open, including in North Carolina. The company now has more than 70 locations across Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. In 2022 it opened a 78,000-square-foot distribution center in Burlington, N.C.

Biscuitville’s menu includes, as you would imagine, a host of biscuit sandwiches, including the bacon, egg and cheese; the spicy chicken and honey biscuit; the ultimate country ham biscuit and many others. The company also touted in a Tuesday release its “expanded drink options,” including Community Coffee and Carolinas soda favorite Cheerwine.

As a nod to the Feb. 13 opening, Biscuitville customers have a chance to win free breakfasts for a year. You can enter to win at biscuitville.com/columbia-clemsonroad-signup.

The Clemson Road Biscuitville won’t be the company’s only outpost in the Midlands. A location at 7924 Garners Ferry Road also is under development.

Biscuitville on Clemson Road will be open from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.
