A new spot for chicken fingers, wings and more is planned for northeast Columbia.
Slim Chickens, a growing national chain with locations across the U.S., will open a restaurant at 456 Killian Road. That’s just southwest of Interstate 77, near the Jim Hudson Lexus car dealership.
An opening date for the Killian Road Slim Chickens hasn’t been publicly announced, but it is listed as “coming soon” on the company’s website.
Slim Chickens has a burgeoning profile in the Columbia area. It opened a location at 7544 Garners Ferry Road in 2022, and it is planning a location at 2089 N. Beltline Blvd. in the Forest Acres area. The company was founded in Arkansas and expanded across the U.S. in recent years. There are nearly 200 locations nationwide, according to data site ScrapeHero.
The Slim Chickens menu reveals a host of offerings, including chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches, wraps, salads and more. The restaurant also touts a number of side items, such as mac and cheese, fried okra, fried pickles, fried mushrooms, ranch chips and more. It also carries sweet treats, such as milkshakes and brownies.
The Killian Road Slim Chickens will be coming to a high-traffic area. About 17,000 cars per day travel down that stretch of Killian, per state Department of Transportation statistics, and about 92,000 cars per day traverse I-77 nearby.
