Boil water advisory issued for area in Winnsboro

Water customers in an area in the Town of Winnsboro are advised to boil water following a 12-inch water main break on Friday.

Customers in the area where U.S. 321 South intersects with U.S. 34 West near the Lamplighter Apartments and the Fairfield Industrial Park are advised to vigorously boil water for at least one minute prior to drinking or cooking, officials with the Town of Winnsboro said. Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

In addition, any residents near the affected area who have lost water or water pressure are also advised to boil their water.
