Search ends for missing 2-year-old boy last seen in his yard, SC deputies say
There was a happy ending Sunday to the search for a missing South Carolina toddler.
After being reported missing, 2-year-old Dutton “Dut Dut” Aaron was found safe and well, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office told The State.
Before he was located, the sheriff’s office said Dutton was last seen at about noon in his yard on Sunshine Circle in Aiken. That is a relatively wooded area, not far from bodies of water.
The sheriff’s office said Dutton was located before 3 p.m.
Someone spotted Dutton in the wooded area near Chucker Creek Elementary School and called Aiken County emergency dispatch, the sheriff’s office said. The school is about a mile from Sunshine Circle.
Dutton was checked out by EMS and had no injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
Dutton was with a 9-month-old Golden Retriever puppy when they walked out of the house, according to the sheriff’s office.
When Dutton was found, the puppy was with him and they are back with their family, the sheriff’s office said.
