Boil water advisory issued for Richland County neighborhood near I-20, Oak Hills Golf Club

Water customers in a Richland County neighborhood between Oak Hills Golf Club and I-20 north of Columbia are advised to boil water following a eight-inch water main break on Monday.

Customers from Fairfield Road to the 1200 block of Crane Church Road including the Lincolnshire and Rockgate subdivisions are advised to vigorously boil water for at least one minute prior to drinking or cooking, officials with the City of Columbia Water Works said. Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

In addition, any residents near the affected area who have lost water or water pressure are also advised to boil their water.

For more information, Columbia Water Works customers should call (803) 545-3300.
