Body found in wooded area early Monday morning in Aiken County, coroner’s office says
A body was found in Aiken County around 5:45 a.m. Monday morning, according to a report from the county coroner’s office.
The victim was found in a wooded area down an embankment and was pronounced dead at 6:19 a.m. from at least one gunshot wound, according to the report.
The autopsy is scheduled for this Thursday in Newberry, according to the report. The Aiken County Sheriff‘s investigation into the death is ongoing, the news release said.
