Former WLTX anchor Darci Strickland starts new job. Here’s where she is going.

A former WLTX anchor has announced her new job.

Darci Rush, who was an anchor for CBS affiliate WLTX, is the new senior chief communications officer for the Richland 2 school district.

Rush, who was known as Darci Strickland at WLTX, started the job Thursday.

“We are thrilled to welcome Darci Rush to our leadership team,” Superintendent Kim D. Moore said in a news release. “Her expertise in content creation, media management and community engagement will be invaluable as we continue to enhance our communication efforts and build strategic relationships within our district and beyond.”

Rush, who was in broadcast journalism for 27 years, will oversee the district’s internal and external communications, media relations and strategic partnerships, the district said.

“I am honored to join Richland School District Two in this exciting new capacity,” Rush said in a news release. “I look forward to leveraging my experience in communications and community engagement to support the district’s mission and enhance its connection with all partners.”

Rush is married and has three daughters, one who graduated in 2023 and two who are rising seniors.
