The West Columbia Fire Department is asking people to avoid a section of Lexington County after a gas leak was reported Monday morning.

The leak is in the 900 block of Ontario Drive, near the intersection with Ottawa Trail, according to the fire department. That’s in a part of West Columbia between U.S. 378/Sunset Boulevard and the Saluda River.

Crews from Dominion Energy are also on the scene, attempting to fix the leak, the fire department said.

There was no word if the area has been evacuated.

No injuries were reported by the fire department.

Information about what caused the gas leak was not available. At about 10 a.m. the fire department said Dominion had secured the leak and the road was reopened.
