Here’s when and where you can get free food and water in the Greenville area since Helene

Greenville County churches, businesses, community groups are reaching out to neighbors to provide water and meals in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Helene.

As of Monday evening, about two thirds of Greenville County residents were without power. Duke Energy said it would have power restored to everyone, except those whose lines needed to be rebuilt, by Friday just before midnight.

  • Among those offering help are:
  • Bottled water and ready to eat meals distributed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this week by Greenville County at 35 E. Antrim Drive at McAllister Square.
  • Upstate Circle of Friends will provide free drive thru meals to District 25 families. The line begins at 29 Ridgeway Drive, Greenville beginning at 3 p.m. until gone on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Harvest Hope food distribution at 2818 White Horse Rd, Greenville.
  • National Guard is giving out water and ice at Harris Teeter on Augusta Road.
  • St. Matthew Baptist Church fish and hot dog plates 5 p.m. Wednesday.
  • Rock of Ages food truck free meals 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, 105 Donaldson Road, Piedmont.
  • Slater-Marietta Fire Department is providing has bottled water for the community at their station, 3001 Geer hwy. Marietta.

Also, United Way of Greenville County established a relief fund to provide immediate assistance to those who have been hardest hit by the storm, as well as additional support to local nonprofits responding to the crisis, according to a news release. The agency said 100% of donations will fund efforts to help Greenville County recover.
