WING ALERT: There’s a new chicken restaurant in this former Columbia Schlotzsky’s spot
There’s a new spot for wings and more on a well-traveled Columbia road.
Wings Co., which has a half-dozen locations in the Carolinas, recently opened a new restaurant at 529 Bush River Road, just west of the Dutch Square Center mall. The Wings Co. is in the location that was formerly home to a Schlotzsky’s Deli. That deli closed earlier this year.
“At Wings Co., we bring together the speed of a quick-service restaurant with the quality you’d expect from a sit-down meal,” Wings Co. says on its website. “Our menu combines classic and unique flavors, from tangy and spicy to sweet and savory, all crafted with care and fresh ingredients.”
The menu at the Columbia Wings Co. includes, as you would expect, wings in various saucy flavors, along with chicken tenders, chicken and waffles, and chicken sandwiches. They also have loaded chicken mac and cheese, French fries, fried pickles, onion rings and more.
Wings Co. also has restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area, as well as in Wilmington and Fayetteville, N.C.
There are a host of businesses near the new Wings Co., including a Captain D’s, a Cook Out, a Zaxby’s and more. The location is just east of Interstate 26. About 23,000 cars per day travel down that section of Bush Rover Road, per state Department of Transportation statistics.
