There’s a new Mexican restaurant open along this Columbia road near a busy interstate
There’s a new place to enjoy some of the flavors of Mexico in northeast Columbia.
Dos Amigos Mexican Restaurant recently opened its doors at 8105 Two Notch Road. That’s along a busy commercial strip just east of Interstate 77. The restaurant is located next door to the Marriott Delta Hotel, and is in the space that formerly was home to a Whiskey Kitchen restaurant.
The menu at Dos Amigos includes a host of Mexican favorites, including nachos, fajitas, enchiladas, quesadillas, burritos and more. There are combination plates, including the always reliable No. 18 (a burrito, a taco, rice and beans), as well as seafood dinners and a kids menu.
The restaurant also highlights its roster of steaks.
“Our selection of steaks are grilled with our special Mexican spices,” the eatery boasts on its website. The steak ranchero or steak Dos Amigos, they are our best selection of steaks in the restaurant.”
The steak ranchero is a grilled ribeye steak served with rice, beans, flour tortillas and guacamole salad and topped with ranchero sauce. Meanwhile, the steak Dos Amigos comes with grilled onions and peppers and is served with pico de gallo, lettuce, jalapeno, guacamole, beans and tortillas.
There is a host of businesses near the Dos Amigos, including Texas Roadhouse, IHOP, Holiday Inn Express, a QuikTrip and more. It’s a high-traffic area, with about 31,000 cars per day traveling down that stretch of Two Notch, per state Department of Transportation statistics, and 58,000 cars per day traversing Interstate 77 nearby.
