Here are the most safe and unsafe hospitals in SC Upstate. See how your hospital scored
Half of the hospitals in the Upstate scored A on grades recently released by The Leapfrog Group, which has collected data on patient safety for more than two decades.
The fall report used publicly available data at 3,000 hospitals across the nation to judge their ability to prevent medical errors, accidents and infections.
Overall South Carolina ranked 10th with 40.4% of its facilities earning an A ranking. The Upstate outpaced the rest of the state with 50% or seven of its hospitals garnering A grades
“Despite improvements seen in this fall’s Safety Grade, significant variation in performance remains across U.S. hospitals,” Leah Binder, President and CEO of The Leapfrog Group, said in a press release. “That’s why it’s so important for people to consult grades when making decisions about seeking care. All hospitals are not the same.”
