A restaurant known nationwide for burritos and more has debuted a new Midlands location.

Chipotle has opened a new restaurant at 5400 Forest Drive in Columbia, near Forest Acres. That’s on the property that formerly was home to a San Jose restaurant. The San Jose building was demolished earlier this year, with Cason Development Group announcing a new construction at the site that would include Chipotle, a Starbucks and at least one other business.

The new Forest Drive Chipotle is open from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The company said in a release that the location has a “Chipotlane” drive-thru lane that allows customers to pick up digital orders without leaving their vehicle.

Chipotle has long been known for its burritos, tacos, salads, bowls and more. They also have quesadillas, kids meals and a variety of sodas. The company said in a release that the new Columbia location will offer smoked brisket for a limited time.

Forest Drive has consistently been a bustling retail and commercial corridor, just west of Interstate 77 and the U.S. Army’s Fort Jackson training installation. About 29,000 cars per day travel down Forest Drive near the site where Chipotle is located, per state Department of Transportation data.

The Chipotle on Forest Drive is hiring, per the company. Those interested in applying can visit chipotle.com/careers.
