A Lexington-Richland School District 5 bus crashed into a residential yard Friday afternoon, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Students were on the bus but no serious injuries were reported, according to the police department. Students were taken to an area hospital as a precaution.

The Columbia Police Department shared news of the incident Friday afternoon along with a photo of a school bus sitting in the middle of a residential backyard near a small body of water.

No further information was immediately available about the incident. The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation, according to the police department.
