Percival-area fire damages 8 apartments

A two-alarm fire Saturday morning damaged eight Columbia apartments.

Columbia firefighters responded to the Quail Run apartments at 3509 Lake Avenue, off Percival Road, around 7 a.m., according to fire department spokesman Brick Lewis. Saturday.

The fire was under control by 7:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported in the blaze that caused heavy damage to four apartments and minor damage to four others, Lewis said.

The cause of the fire and the cost of the damage are still unknown.
