These 9 Columbia restaurants will be open for Christmas 2024 serving holiday meals
Shopping, gift wrapping and travel planning are normally more than enough to make Christmas a stressful time for many.
So why add Christmas Day meal preparation into the mix?
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are almost upon us, and while the meal may not be quite as big of a deal as it is on Thanksgiving, people do tend to enjoy a nice feast for the holiday.
With that in mind, some Columbia restaurants plan to keep their doors open and provide plenty of food for families that don’t feel like preparing meals themselves this year.
Here are nine Columbia restaurants that will be open serving customers on Christmas Day and/ or Christmas Eve.
Smoked
Visit Smoked if you’d like to eat downtown on Christmas Day this year. The restaurant will be open from 2 to 8 p.m. on Christmas Day.
Smoked is an upscale restaurant and bar that offers farm-to-table dishes that include seafood and house-smoked prime meats. Their Christmas menu this year includes entrees such as sliced prime rib, roasted pork loin, and halibut. Desserts include rhubarb pie, cookies and cream, or a rich chocolate cake.
Smoked is located at 1643 Main St.
Ruth’s Chris Steak House
Ruth’s Chris Steak House will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Columbia this year. The restaurant will be open from noon to 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve and from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Christmas Day.
Choose from a variety of options, from ribeye and T-bone steaks to lamb chops and pork chops. The restaurant also has a variety of seafood options, such as garlic-crusted sea bass, barbecued shrimp, or salmon.
Ruth’s in Columbia is located at 924-A Senate Street.
California Dreaming
The California Dreaming Columbia location will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The restaurant’s menu is loaded with options, from fried chicken and sandwiches to seafood, steaks, and ribs.
California Dreaming in Columbia is located at 401 Main Street.
Hanabi Hibachi and Sushi
How about trying something a little different this Christmas with a meal from Hanabi Hibachi? The downtown restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve and from noon to 8 p.m. on Christmas Day.
Pick from traditional Japanese-style hibachi meals with steak, shrimp, chicken, lobster, pork, or any combination. There’s also a variety of sushi rolls on the menu, or you can order a sampler if you can’t decide on what to try.

Halls Chophouse
Halls Chophouse in downtown Columbia will be closed on Christmas Day but will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for Christmas Eve. Menu offerings include filet mignon, ahi tuna, shrimp and grits, New York strip, tomahawk ribeye, and Japanese A5 wagyu filet.

Hampton Street Vineyard
Hampton Street Vineyard will be offering a special menu of its French-infused cuisine from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The three-course meal includes options such as heirloom pumpkin bisque, French onion soup, herb-roasted leg of lamb, horseradish-crusted cab prime rib, sorghum-glazed Manchester Farms quail, peppermint cheesecake, and chocolate pot de crème.

Golden Corral
The national buffet chain will, naturally, offer an all-you-can-eat meal on Christmas Day, including traditional favorites such as turkey and ham, along with a new holiday pork roast offering this year. The endless buffet will also be loaded with traditional holiday favorites like stuffing, sweet potato casserole, and pumpkin and pecan pie.
Golden Corral in Columbia can be found at 5300 Forest Drive.
Braza do Sul
Braza do Sul will offer everything you’d want to eat for Christmas Eve and more. The restaurant will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The restaurant offers a Brazilian style of dining where various cuts of meat are skewered, grilled, and served directly at the table. There’s also a salad bar with plenty of options.

The Hollow
Forest-to-table restaurant The Hollow will be open from 3 to 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve with a limited dinner service. Food and drink specials will be offered. The restaurant specializes in rustic American cooking, using wild game such as bison, duck, elk, boar, rabbit and more.
