Publix, Piggly Wiggly, Walmart & more: These SC grocery stores are open on Christmas Eve & Day

Presents are one thing, but many families in the South also enjoy a big holiday meal on Christmas. Some will pack local restaurants, but most others will have home-cooked meals.
And whether you are making the meal yourself or bringing food to a grandparent’s home, oftentimes during the hustle and bustle of the week, you’ll forget that one key ingredient or necessary side. And that means a quick trip to a grocery store.
If you wait until actual Christmas Day though, you’ll be out of luck. None of the major grocery chains in South Carolina will be open on Wednesday.
However, many will remain open on Tuesday for Christmas Eve, just some with limited hours.

Publix
Most Publix stores will be open on Christmas Eve and will close at 7 p.m.
Whole Foods Market
Whole Foods Market will be open on Christmas Eve. However, most stores will have modified hours for the holiday and will close at 7 p.m. Shoppers should call their local store for details.
Target
Whether you have a Target with a large grocery store section or a small one, the result will be the same come Christmas Eve — it will close early at 8 p.m., a press release states.
Piggly Wiggly

Walmart
Like its competitor Target, Walmart will be open on Christmas Eve, but with limited hours. Walmart stores will shut their doors at 6 p.m.
Food Lion
Food Lion fans in South Carolina are in luck! The grocery chain will be open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
