Tee time: New indoor golf simulator opens along busy Midlands road
An indoor golf simulator company has opened a new location in Forest Acres in a bustling retail area near Trader Joe’s and the Cardinal Crossing shopping center.
Pro Swing, which already operates a Chapin location, opened at 4708 Forest Drive in mid-December, the business shared to social media. The facility features two Golfzon simulators, which have over 200 virtual courses. Pro Swing doesn’t require a membership to play, but instead offers a discounted playing rate for monthly members.
The business takes up residence along a busy section of Forest Drive lined with health food stores, gyms and restaurant chains. An average of 27,600 vehicles travel down that stretch each day, according to traffic counts provided by the state Department of Transportation.
It’s one of at least three indoor golf simulator companies in the area, joining The Player’s Club on Columbia’s Main Street, which requires a monthly membership, and Tee’d Up, which is located along North Lake Drive between Lake Murray and the town of Lexington and doesn’t require a membership.
Taking a swing at the new location of Pro Swing costs $55 an hour per simulator bay and up to six people can play on a simulator at a time. According to the company’s website, one hour with two players will get you around nine holes. Monthly memberships cost $100 a month and include a discounted rate of play.
The new location’s preview hours at 4708 Forest Drive have been from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. most days, but updates on hours can be found on the company’s Facebook page.
